Artist information

Johannes du Plessis uses his distinct figurative cubist style to express his
love of form and nature. Johannes was born in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa in 1953.
He studied privately from 1968 to 1971 under the South African sculptress,
Maureen Quin.
Johannnes studied further at Potchefstroom University and the Port Elizabeth
Technikon gaining a higher National Diploma in Fine Arts (sculpture and drawing).

Profile:

1982- Illustrator for publishing company Maskew Miller CT and the
studio manager for several silkscreen clothing manufactures in Cape Town.
1988- Became a full-time professional painter and sculptor.
1998- Moved to Greyton in the Western Cape.

Exhibitions: 1982-1999 Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban and Johannesburg.
Switzerland (Zurich).
